Faces of the US Nursing Workforce

Faces of the US Nursing Workforce

We need a global healthcare workforce in the US. Undeniably, without foreign-born clinicians with US-equivalent degrees, our community hospitals wouldn’t function. According to the US Census Bureau, 18.2% of healthcare workers are immigrant workers. And yet, there’s still a significant need for clinical talent.

Clinical provider shortages are system-wide and impact rural America most severely. AAMC projects that the United States will face a physician shortage of up to 86,000 physicians by 2036, and a nearly 295,000 shortage of nurses by 2030, according to the National Center for Workforce Analysis.

But these shortages are beyond metrics. It’s the number of healthcare professionals to help your ailing parents, to aid in your partner’s cancer treatments, to assist with your kid’s broken arm. Healthcare shortages have a direct impact on the lives of Americans and their families.

inSpring Helps Meet Demand

At inSpring, we’ve created education-to-practice programs that support foreign-born clinical talent, focusing on skills readiness, compliance, and long-term retention for our healthcare systems.

We work directly with employers and international talent to mobilize hard-working, licensed healthcare professionals into much-needed roles across the country. From job readiness and professional development to employer readiness and compliance, our team offers the full stack of support services to fill gaps quickly and without friction.

Meet Our Nurses

Since our inception, we’ve helped place hundreds of global talent into US hospitals. We’d like to introduce some of these healthcare professionals who’ve settled into new roles and communities.

Aziz

Unity Hospital, Rochester Regional Health
Rochester, NY
Emergency Department

“True success is rarely achieved without sacrifice. Becoming a U.S. Registered Nurse had been a lifelong dream and a goal on my bucket list for many years. After successfully passing my NCLEX and obtaining my RN license, I faced significant challenges. Everything changed after I met the generous and dedicated staff member of the inSpring team, Mr. Corey. His guidance, consistent follow-ups, encouragement, and support transformed what initially felt like a long and difficult journey into a remarkable milestone—achieved within just three months. I extend my sincere gratitude to Mr. Corey, RN Olga, Ms. Bethany, and our true rockstar, Ms. Mallory. Their professionalism, commitment, and genuine care made all the difference. I am deeply grateful to the entire inSpring Team for making my American nursing dream a reality.”

“Thank you, Bethany and Mallory, and the whole inSpring team, for the hard work and dedication you’ll have put into. The transition was never like before, as it is my third country that I’m moving into. It was made so simple that inSpring took away my worries and fear, as you always responded to the emails in time. No words to express the sincere gratitude to all of you. Thanks again for helping us in this new chapter of our lives.”

Areeza

Gifford Hospital
Randolph, VT
Operating Room

“Collaborating with inSpring was a truly positive and reassuring experience. They supported me at every step of my journey, making sure I felt confident and well-prepared. Navigating immigration matters can be stressful, but their professionalism, transparency, and prompt communication made the entire process far easier than I ever expected. I would give them five stars for their dedication and support, and I would highly recommend them to friends and colleagues who dream of working in the USA.”

Bill

UAB Hospital
Birmingham, AL
Pulmonary Intermediate Care Unit

“Since joining UAB, I’ve had an exceptionally positive experience there. From the nurse manager and assistant nurse managers to my preceptor and coworkers, everyone has been supportive and responsive whenever I need help. I work in the Pulmonary Intermediate Care Unit, which includes acute care, step-down, and SCU sections. Rotating through all three during orientation has helped me build strong clinical skills and confidence, especially when it comes to caring for patients with tracheostomies and patients on ventilators. I have recently completed my unit orientation and started working independently. While working all by myself can be challenging at first, I continue to feel well supported by my coworkers. Outside of work, Birmingham has been a very pleasant place to live. This city has a calm and welcoming atmosphere that helped me settle in quickly, especially during a major life transition.”

Dona

“I am really happy about the work culture and the colleagues here. My unit manager is a nice person and very accommodating. I wish to continue working with a strong hospital for the rest of my career in the US. We are exploring Rochester in depth now and planning to buy our first home here, as my entire family likes this place very well.“

Ruth

“Rochester has been a vibrant backdrop for my personal and professional growth. From the welcoming community to the rich cultural scene, every day brings new opportunities to learn and connect. Exploring the city's parks and museums, I have found inspiration in its history and natural beauty.

I am deeply grateful to inSpring for their consistent assistance, whether it was helping me adapt to new challenges, connecting me with valuable resources, or offering encouragement when I needed it most. The team's dedication to supporting healthcare professionals has made a significant difference in my journey.”
